31. Januar 2024: Projet 6000: Balme / Vallorcine (Chamonix)

Worth every penny. The view to Aiguille Verte and Mont Blanc.

Unser letztes Skigebiet auf der diesjährigen Tour heisst mit vollem Namen eigentlich "Balme/Les Autannes – Vallorcine/Le Tour" und ist Teil des Mont Blanc Ski-Resorts. Dies und die Nähe zur Schweiz haben zur Folge, dass wir zum ersten Mal wieder mit "richtigen" Preisen konfrontiert sind. Für das kleine Gebiet gibt es keinen separaten Skipass, es gibt nur einen Skipass für das ganze Vallée de Chamonix. Auf meine Frage an der Kasse, wieviel Sinn das bei einer 4-Stundenkarte macht, zuckt die Dame nur mit den Schultern: "C'est-comme-ça". Manche Skigebiete haben es offensichtlich nicht nötig, den Kunden das Gefühl zu geben, dass man ihnen den grösstmöglichen Wert bieten will.

Oben ist die Geschichte dann rasch erzählt: Zusammen mit Erinnerungen an tolle Skiabenteuer vor längerer Zeit hatten wir ein paar schöne Abfahrten, wobei vor allem die Talabfahrt nach Tour einiges Lächeln hervorzauberte. Und ein paar Lifte auf dem Weg zur No 7000 gab es auch noch.

The full name of our last ski resort on this year's tour is actually "Balme/Les Autannes - Vallorcine/Le Tour" and is part of the Mont Blanc ski resort. This and its proximity to Switzerland mean that we are confronted with "real" prices again for the first time. There is no separate ski pass for the small area, there is only one ski pass for the whole Vallée de Chamonix. When I ask at the ticket office how much sense that makes with a 4-hour ticket, the lady just shrugs her shoulders: "C'est-comme-ça". Some ski resorts obviously don't need to give customers the feeling that they are being offered the best possible value.

The story is quickly told at the top: Along with memories of great skiing adventures a long time ago, we had some lovely runs, with the valley descent after Tour in particular raising a few smiles. And there were also a few lifts on the way to No 7000.
